    This compact cattleya is a very dark, velvety red. The picture doesn't due it justice.

    Very nice! Been wanting to get one of these, but the shipping is too prohibitive for just one plant. How tall is it btw, Jeff?

    From the base of the psuedobulb to the tip of the leaf is 10" on the tallest leaf.

    I've had much the same difficulty with photographing deep reds - and burgundies, too. Shooting late day, in natural light, sometimes helps with the richness of the reds. Just a thought.
