Encyclia vitellina

Intermediate to cool growing species. It blooms two or three times a year, so it doesn't have a particular blooming season for me.

I never knew that a Encyclia could be this orange and yellow in color. The one photo I had seen of the Encyclia vitellina does not ompare with these bright and shinning colors. AL

This color is hard to be captured on photo IMO. Too much light will wash out the colors easily but too little light also makes it look too red..., however this one is pretty close to the atual color(bright orange red and bright yellow lip). My last photo(posted in 2009) was way too red compared to the actual color.
