I almost did not take this to today's judging, as it is a young plant still and only had 1 spike (this is its second year to bloom--last year I broke off half the spike). But the 1 spike did have a lot of blooms, and I LOVE the color, so I took it mostly just to show. It ended up being the only award given out today at the Dallas Judging Center. Apparently the other awarded cultivars from the grex are darker & the judges were very taken with the lighter color of this one. I can't wait til it gets bigger and has multiple spikes.
I know Bill & maybe a couple of other folks on OT have this cultivar as well, so you can update your tags with the new info, if you like.
Congratulations Kathi! That is awesome. What a beautiful orchid! I am so happy for you.
