Your plants are stunning, Andrea! I am especially jealous of your gorgeous Brassidium Shooting Star as mine is struggling, outside in Florida USA. I have a Mtssa. Olmec that is growing psuedobulbs like crazy and I hope it also can flower like your Mtssa. Pelican Lake. Congrats on your growing skills!

    Thanks
I think the secret is cooler nighta
my miltasssia grew a spike late in autumn just before I had to bring the plant inside to avoid the first frost
since i think cooler night might be a problem for you, you could bring thr flowers inside if you have air conditioning , when the pseudobulbs finish maturing
    just an ideea

OMG...I am so totally jealous that you live with people who allow you to put orchids everywhere!! My husband is VERY reluctantly beginning to accept that there are going to be plants on every flat surface of the house, and quite possibly on the walls in the coming days, but he continues to complain. I will definitely have to show him your pics so he can see that what I've got going on over here is quite conservative, really (even though anyone who finds out I have over 200 orchids immediately goes into freak-out mode).

I love how you have displayed some of your orchids using plastic storage containers attached to your cabinets. What a fantastic idea!!! You should charge admission to your house! And really, I wouldn't call your growing area "intrusive," I'd just call your house a garden!! And really, who wouldn't want to live in an orchid garden? (Okay, perhaps my husband, but he doesn't count...lol!)

Love, love, love your pics. I too, have a weakness for the Dtps variety of flowers...have you seen the Phalaenopsis Siam Treasure? (Or perhaps you already have it and I just missed it amongst all the other phals). It's most commonly seen as the coerulea form of a phal (doritis) pulcherrima crossed with a phal lowii. OMG...it's AMAZING. It's got the Doritis form but with the hooked lip of the lowii. And it's BLUE!!! Want, want, want.....

Anyway, happy growing!! You must walk around smiling ALL THE TIME with all that beauty surrounding you!!
