Paph. Julius 'The Joker' (lowii x rothschildianum)

im very pleased with these flowers. The flowers are a little smaller then a standard AOS awarded Julius but the stance and coloration that it holds struck me as gold. This cross has a little over a hundred awards. Maybe next years it will get another...haha..My camera does not do the dark purple of the petal tips and pouch justice....natural eyes in natural light gets the best coloration.. Im going to name this plant ....Paph. Julius 'The Joker'

thanks Amey, yes im very pleased, as you will be with your new plants. Those crosses should bring about very nice flowers. Im actually excited to see your (roth x vinicolor).. i love the darker cherry to black paphs

I've seen quite few differences in P. Julius - size, intensity of color, markings, etc., but it's always so striking! I love the lowii crosses and this one is truly a spectacular one. Great job, Andrew!

I love lowii, it is my second favourite after parishii. Very nice cross you have there.
