Very nice coloured phoenicea . I think it's still considered a species even though it's been crossed between 2 different forms.

On a trip to the nursery a couple weeks ago I found this plant with two spikes and as I love the Encyclia I thought I'd try a hybrid out. I have to say, it turned out to be a very nice suprise. The flowers are a little larger than normal and smell wonderful.

Stunning example of this species. The name you post is just showing the 2 clones that were crossed. Still a species.
Nice buy Connie. Easy on the eyes and easy on the nose. AL
That is truly a beautiful Enc. Goes on my wish list.
How beautiful the orchid blooms are on your Encyclia Phoenicea. I think it is interesting how long those spikes are too. Nice!
cheers,

I really like this - it's a sophisticated-looking plant with those long, elegant spikes and those flowers. I wouldn't mind one of these, myself!

Thanks for the "species" info. I have enjoyed this plant...those spikes just sway in the breeze. And I agree, I think they are elegant...thank you for the comments.
That is a beautiful one Connie, you have got a keeper.
Lovely!
