Default My first year growing Gloxinia

So this is my first year growing Gloxinia from tubers bought in the supermarket
I am quite proud of the result since they are finicky (require more attention than some of my orchids)
next year I am buying every available colour
    here are the photos

Beautiful! Your are correct in that they are not the easiest plant to grow and bloom. Congratulations on your success .

very pretty, used to work in a flower shop and they were the hardest plant to take care of, either underwatered, or overwatered, could never find the right balance.

Well done! Lovely flowers. I have resisted trying these as 1) I find african violets to be troublesome, and 2) my understanding is they prefer cooler temps.

    Thanks everyone
it is true african violets like cooler temps, but their cousins the gloxonia thrive when it is warmer (20-26 Celsius)
mine are grown outside and untill the temps outside got to about 20 degrees during the day they refused to grow
