Hello friends! Well you all must have seen any number of these: x Burrageara Nelly Isler. Well I don't care because it is such a lovely cross that just keeps on giving. this photo was taken nearly two months ago... and it is STILL in flower. Seven spikes (not forgetting the great aroma!)
What a graceful arrangement it has made. The flowers are lovely
Wow, great job! I see that you don't have them spiked up...that must be one healthy plant to hold all those flowers up! You have a lovely display....
beautiful growing and arrangement, 2 thumbs up
Aaahhh... I have been a bit devious: in order to prevent the spikes obscuring each other I used SATAY STICKS to secure them in position! They are just long and strong enough to do the job, but fine and unobtrusive. This was for positioning, and not really for support: this is one well engineered plant that pretty much supports itself. I have great respect for these kind of hybrids!
Thank you for the kind comments, everyone: it is my pleasure to share it with you. I tell you though: growing this awesome plant is like falling off a log. (= No problem.)
Beautiful Burrageara Nelly Isler!!
cheers,
BD
It is a lovely cross and the multiple blooms it provides show just what a great plant it is. It's nice to have frequent success versus waiting for the rare flower.......................AL
Congrats Igor. Beautiful Blooms.
About 3 years ago I visited a local nursery and saw one of these plants. I was overcome with the colour and beauty of the flowers. Reluctantly I paid a whopping price for it, took it home and the flowers lasted for a long time and then the plant just died. They will not do well in my climate.
What a beautiful display! I love this one! I look forward to the day mine becomes this large! Wow! I have never seen one so large and with so many spikes! Thank you for sharing!
