The more I see these, the more I like them! Sorry the digi-cam is giving you trouble, but the colors in the photo I see are beautiful. So blue!
Cheers!

Another of my AVs in bloom. Alas, my digital camera and I can't seem to get certain colors right. This bloom is a deep violet purple, and the picotee is PINK! Maybe going to have to invest in a new camera...

How cool is that?
The picotee looks awesome on it!
Hey B, we need to try growing a couple of these, just for the heck of it. I've never tried growing an AV.
Very beautiful Diane!
I just went to my local AV greenhouse to buy two new AV's in case my little guys don't make it, you know consolation plants
I know what you mean about not getting the color of the flowers right. I just went through that this weekend with a Dtps. I have. The actual plant I have looks like rich beet juice colored velvet, but alas, my photos did not get the color. Ahh well, I still love the vibrant color in the photo of your mini.
So lovely! Nice intense color--what's wrong with blue anyways? lol, pretty color still. And double flowers are x-tra cool!
I wish I could grow these, but they are one of the few house plants that I just can't get the hang of. My mom grew them for years and years but I can't get one to do more than last a few months.
Beautiful blooms!
The larger AV you sent to me is doing great! It now has put out its third set of leaves. I am so eager for it to bloom! It really likes living in the kitchen window. It is angled toward the light a bit, but I turn it a little to keep it from growing out of one side of the pot. When it does bloom, I will post a pic here!!
The little one is still tiny, but has lots of leaves. I think there might be more than one AV plant in the pot. --maybe three??? I am not sure. I just keep it growing and when it gets big enough to repot, I will find out.
Cheers!

Well I am glad to hear they are doing so well! It's very possible that there is more than one plant in a pot, as these propagate by root runners, and often when you "start" a new one, it splits two or three times.
