Dendrobium moschatum - Too long.

Dendrobium moschatum one of the longest pseudobulb may exceeds more 6 feet, the problem arise when the pot couldn't support the weight of the pseudobulb though I used big clay pot.

the plant doesn't seem to mind, looks happy, I have this problem with some of my epi's and den gatton sunray but nowhere near 6 feet. I took the pot they were in,put it in a larger pot and filled it with lava rock

Hi Zain, Looks very healthy, I guess you just have to keep raising them higher and higher. What is their flowering season ? would be a pity to have them on the ground when they come into flower !! ( hope you don't have snails and slugs as I do.. they would make quite a feast for them)

i have seen them once in flower in my entire life....and it was beautiful....i do not like them because most people here grow them moist alll year and they never flower....they have kind of a bad rep here for not flowering and when i was growing up i used to always see leaves and canes...never a flower..so i have a mental block for moschatum lololol

Some Epi and Gatton Sun Ray the pseudobulb grow upwards shouldn't be a problem, but this one like a fiber optic unstable maybe is a good idea to get bigger clay pot and use bricks to stable it.Thanks Ed.

Hi Angela thanks actually flowering season uncertain but when there is hot spell for about 2 to 3 weeks it will stimulate the buds formation at least 3 to 4 times a year, we do have snails ,sludge they seldom touch the leaves but they do love the young tender roots, really big headache after through away the poison around the pot problem settled.
