As a researcher within Solar Fuels and Solar energy research I have been out way to much in the world and met way to many people. Particular in the energy and climate research and politic. I react instinctive on these issues unfortunate... :-)

Katherine, the large cabinet is bought second hand and was built for snakes from the beginning. Though it is built out of standard Aluminium frames and ordinary glass. I though changed the back and the bottom to water tightmaterials myself.

I love your cabinets, now you have me plotting to see what I can come up with! I'm probably better off sticking with large window sills and my shelving with florescent lights I set up to start vegetables in for the spring. The rest of the year many of my orchids and house plants live there! It's a little low light, the Phals are somewhat dark leaved, but it's enough for them to grow happily and bloom!

Time for an update of the drip wall cabinet. 3 month after the last picture and a massive pruning of undesired mosses last week. :-)

Now it has been running with only LED light for 7 month...

An Update.

The cabinet have now been running for about 14-16 month (depending how to count) with only the LED light as light source. I have on avarage cleaned the water reservoir under the false bottom every secont to third month and refilled it with 50 liters of water. I have also pruned the moss several times.

I'd love to learn a little more about it something like this would solve a lot of my growing space issues!

I have,but at the moment I have not compiled any material. I will try to do that but at the moment my life situation prevent me for allocating the time to do it right away. :-(
