Coelogyne merrillii is endemic to the Philippines. Usually a lithophyte in situ. Professor Ames first described this species in 1911, and it was named after Dr. Elmer Merrill who collected the first specimens.
It's really different. I like the unusual color combination. Do you have a picture from the front?
Great looking lip. Is this a highland species? Also, does this one have a fragrance? Would like to get into more of the coelogynes.
