LOL. Oxalis has earned the bad rep, Jordan, by not "policing" those bad apples you spoke of. (Brings to mind the old saying -- a few bad apples can spoil the barrel.) Here on my fronts, an eternal battle against Oxalis stricta -- aka wood sorrel -- is waged. Between its regenerative capabilities from small pieces missed while weeding, fast growth, and ability to shoot seeds up to 13m (4m) away from the mother plant, it truly is a scourge.

Interesting to see the variety in foliage ... some of them are indeed quite attractive. Flower-wise, less remarkable. (Unfortunate for O. versicolor that it does not have its red borders on the front of the flower.)

OoC, so it appears that Oxalis peduncularis undergoes a drastic morphological change in leaf shape? Is the rosette only produced basally?

Of course it's good to see you back Jordan. Missed your effervescent chatter and posts. Growing weeds now, I see. What will you think of next ? Smoking it perhaps ?

I certainly congratulate you on a great collection. thanks for presenting the various species to us. they are very pretty in your pots.
I am familiar with only two of the ones you have shown, and the mention and or sight of them in my garden will leave me heaving and pulling my hair at the roots. these are determingly invasive, and if they should get into my 'chid pots I have to repot in order to get the roots out!!!!
All that said, "hats off to you"!!!

i have the green and purple 'shamrock' types, and 'iron cross' also. this year i planted 'oca' the oxalis that forms an edible potato like tuber. not sure what color it will grow, until the end of the year when i dig it up. i have it in a hanging basket, the plant drapes over the edge. no flowers at all.
