    Default Paph. Maudiae

Well there were two tags on this one when it was given to me~Paph. Maudiae and then the other tag~Paph. Candy Apple 'Ching Hua' x Paph. Maudiae 'Eureka'. I had not embarked upon growing any paphs yet when this was given to me. They never really caught my eye, but when this was given to me, I found it alluring. I love the darkness to it. I'm not sure if I'd buy any paphs in the future, but I'm looking forward to seeing this one rebloom. Shortly after I received it, the bloom was past its prime. So I didn't get to enjoy it for long. I'm almost embarrassed to share my poor quality photos here! All the dazzling shots you all share here put mine to shame. I'm still trying to get the hang of this dig. cam, and it's not a great camera. However, here's a pic:

    Hi Lore!

Don't be embarrassed about your photo! Everyone starts somewhere. We are all excited to see your paph! I look forward to your rebloom photo!

BTW, your tags are both correct. The type of paph you have there is a maudiae type. This simply means that it has one flower on one stem and the plant has mottled foliage. The name of your paph is however Paph. Candy Apple 'Ching Hua' x Paph. Maudiae 'Eureka'.

    Cheers!

    hey Lore,

I'm a sucker for all things Paphs.. so post as many pics as you like, and I'll always say I love it.. which would be true... I don't think I've seen a Paph I don't like yet

I love the colour on your slipper.. so dark.. it almost reminds me of Darth Vader!

    Thanks for sharing.

    cheers

Colour does look really dark , most striking.
As for the camera keep practicing , doesn't cost anything so keep trying different things until you get the right combination of settings/light etc.
