2013 FWCOS - Show and Sale Pictures

Very nice Connie. Orchid shows are a great way to spend a day. I was at the Abbaye de Fontfroide show (France, near Narbonne) last Saturday. There were about ten sellers there from France, Italy, Switzerland, Taiwan, Malaysia. When I have the time, I'll post the pictures I made and of course also those who came home with me.
This bare root section you call Frankenstein, have you got any idea of what it is?

Yes, it is called Eplc. Dale Farlow, the cross is Lc. Amber Glow x Epi. gracile. I cannot find any pictures of the flowers but it says they will be yellow with a mauve lip.

Hi Connie, Great photos. I was at the show myself and came home with three beauties. I did not care too much for the new location. It was very tight and at times it was difficult to get around. On the other hand, the selection and colors of orchids were the best, and most of all the delicious fragrance in the room was out of this world. I was able to enjoy more from your photos at my leisure. Thank you for posting a large variety of pictures.

I completely agree about the difficulty getting around. I think if they had sat the booths parallel with the walls and not the funny way they had them it would have helped a ton. I got stuck in a crowd up by one of the vendors near the table where you came in and could not move my wheelchair forwards or backwards a single inch for over 10 minutes. One lady stood in front of me and was glaring at me like I could turn in to a helicopter and get out of her way! LOL I finally had to enlist the help of several people to clear a way so I could get out. I was so hurried and hemmed in I didn't even realize they had stuff out back. I plan on bringing up the issue of not getting in early enough. If they won't let me in early in the future, I will have to find a new orchid show to photograph.

Hi ya'll!! Those pics are beauteeeeefulll...our annual orchid show was this weekend..Bob Fuchs was one of the judges present from the AOS..I only got to quickly go through the displays at the night before it was opened to the public.....I saw a Catasetum that won a FCC...that same hybridiser won a FCC some years before with a Catasetum Mem.Vera Mc Millan...so congrats to him Carlyle Mc Millan...I didn't get to take pics this year as I was so busy..
