    Oh don't worry Carol--they'll take alright. Last year I was playing around and ended up with some weird growths and lumps (too early application). But the ones I got right (after all flowers left on spike have died and the plant is producing new roots and leaves) produced 6 keikis. I planted each pair into a pot together when their roots were 3" long. They haven't bloomed, a year later. On the other hand, two of them tried to bloom right away! One year later, the one I put on fir bark has a 7" spike. Waiting to see if the mites got it too, as it's looking a little moth-eaten...
