As always, some nice plants at the show. Due to abject laziness on my part, only some of the photos are here.
To start you off, a rather "puny" chid. (Can you believe anyone even bothers to bring such a "wimpy" plant to a show? )
To anyone unfamiliar with Soph. coccinea, it really is this eye-searing color.
Got a kick out of this one ... reminds me of a duck's bill. Maybe someone should show it to AFLAC.
I'd say this is the darkest, richest red Phrag I have ever encountered:
This one was a beauty I had never seen nor heard of before:

very nice! thanks for sharing!
Anyone who has killed a Sophronitis coccinea knows that just keeping them alive is a challenge. Blooming them takes expertise, and to have one with a dozen flowers.... all I can say is that I bow to whoever the grower is. I hope it got a CCM (Cultural Commendation of Merit) from the AOS. I hope some day to try it when I get things set up properly for it. Until then, it's a dream of mine.
