Barbados Orchid Soc. 2014 Mini Show 2014

Hello everyone
I have been MIA for quite a while. I have not given up on you or my orchids, I have just been too involved in various other things and just did not find the time to get on the computer.
The BOS stages a Big Show every other year, and in the year in between they have a Mini show just to keep us all tuned in and ready for the big one. The Mini is judged by an invited judge from an overseas OS and 2 local judges. Ribbons and Cups are awarded.
The show was held on the 25th March.
I mounted a Table Display and won the top award. Did not do too well with awards for my individual entries. (quite frankly I really did not have too much that was outstanding IMO) I however managed to get a Special Award for the best Miltonia , and then 2 First prizes and 2 third prizes. I'm happy.

Congratulations! You seem to have a knack for staging and presentation! The Cattleya in the second group of photos looks incredible! Do you have any idea what hybrid it is?

So sorry, that plant was not mine, and I don't know the name. I too,think it is beautiful. Our next meeting is Apl. 13th, I shall try to find out and if successful will let you know.

I think it's BLC Sunset Glory. It was one of best blooming catt for me for years. Seeing the picture reminds me that I need to find a replacement.

Beautiful displays!! I'm glad your back in the mix on the forum, it will be great to converse with you about orchids. As a relative newcomer to growing these wonderful plants, I'm absorbing as much information about them as I can! Thanks for posting your pics and congrats on your award!!!
