I know when my orchids get to go outside for the summer, I will be most concerned with avoiding sunburn on them. Next is keeping them watered enough.
I have narrowed down my list of outside orchids for this season (being my first as a grower of orchids). I am going to send 8 of my catts outside. I have 11 and I doubt I will add any more to the collection. Then my cymbidium and some of my dendrobiums like the den spectible. And lastly I may send my zygo, at least some of my oncidiums.
I have been sending a few outside on nice sunny days already this spring when I am at home and can monitor them. Hopefully that will help acclimate them to the sun for when they go out and stay out.
