Hey y'all!
I just went into the store today and lo and behold, I found a "Yamadaara Redland Sunset" bag baby. I've never heard of this in my 7 years of orchid growing and it looks like a stunning plant. Does anyone else have one of these? Any idea of the culture? I'm assuming typical cattleya culture, but any information about this guy would be great! What are you experiences with it? Did I make a good buy?
Bullara Redland Sunset in current terms. Usually yellow/orange with rosy tones in the lip, clusters of 2-3 inch Catt-like flowers. Rhyncattleanthe (Blc.) Manu Akaka x Encyclia cordigera. Manu Akaka is from Rl. glauca, Gur. aurantiaca and typical big yellow Catt background. Typical Catt culture would be appropriate, or if you have Encyclias it should fit right in. Seems like a great purchase.
