Some orchids here and there
Nice garden!
Thank you, Carol. Bogart is such a sweet creature and very playful too. That photo was taken while he was "patrolling" the fence area for some stray cats that usually seek shade under the bushes.

Thanks, Ed. That cattail would do better in a sunnier spot but has adapted well to the shade. You can see the leaves of a Phal intermedia in that photo. That red one is the Mokara Dinah Shore. It is a very prolific bloomer, about 7 times a year, often with double spiking laden with many medium-sized blooms. And it is my largest orchid too. I had to top-cut it last week while in full bloom because it was already around 7 feet tall with large strap leaves and would bend so much when the wind blew because of the weight of the flowers.

Thanks ksriramkumar. Actually I get a lot of help from my aunt who has the proverbial green thumb.

Hi there. Thanks. Where in the Philippines do you live?

Thanks Yew Sung. Actually, my aunt helps me a lot particularly with the potted plants.

Hi there, Al. Oh yes, that shrimp plant always fills out shady spots well and fills them with color too. We have our share of reptiles, birds, and insects. I love the birds in particular. Summer (or the dry season from March to May) is breeding time for the nun finches and there are nests in almost every bush and now even among the vanda roots.

Thanks, Harvey. I haven't taken pic of some of the other flowers. The hot tropical sun caught up with me.
...a vanda and land plants in bloom
fragrant species roses too.
Fragrant bulb (first photo)
The husky bush Aglaia odorata (bottom photo) may have very tiny yellow flowers but these are packed with fragrance.
and some fauna too...Bogart, our 7-month-old dog, the pendant nest of a Philippine sunbird, and the nun finch's nest amongst the vanda roots
Gosh, your flowers are spectacular and your dog is adorable! What a beautiful place you have!
beautiful garden, love the chenille plant, what is the name of the first red vanda plant, love the color
