Zygopetalum Advance Australia- 1st Rebloom

Bought my zygo Advance Australia November 2013 in spike. Now in May 2014, it has rebloomed for me. 3 flowers on the spike which equals the flowers from the last flowering. One did open looking damaged. Like the edge dried out before it opened. But I am not going to photograph it.

It is fragrant at times during the day, but not right now.

And this is the hardest flower to image. It reflects light no matter how I try to light it. I even have tried going outside but no luck on that attempt either.

Yes, lovely deep purple lip! I have a similar one bought in March but the purple is much lighter... Any idea how often they flower? Any tips on what brings on the blooms?

Water, light and fertilizer.

I did nothing special. In fact, the spike surprised me. It came with a new growth and bloomed before the new growth even matured.

It bloomed again less than 6 months after the last blooming.

love zygos, great color on your blooms, like the fragrance also, had one for awhile but the Florida heat just did it in

Yes, a sweet fragrance did show up and seems strongest at mid-day.
