Be careful with the copper. In small doses, copper is a plant micronutrient, but too much is phytotoxic. If you try it, keep an eye on the plant, if you notice a decline in health, I would remove the copper coin.

Copper thin film of 1 mm thick ness with a width of 2 inch, can be striped all around the bench legs. Slugs or snails will not climb or cross the stripe. The sticky part of Snail will get more sticky when toches the copper due to some chemical reaction.
But if its with plant, then need to find an alternate way. We tried Dimethoate 2 ml is effective against small snails
