Are we sharing horrible pictures here as well? Warning to sensitive people :-(. I went on vacation for THE two weeks in Swedish history that were comparable to '1994', which according to my mother was a hot & sunny summer. Unfortunately, my two garden orchids didn't appreciate this...

Oh Goodness,
I am so sorry. They knew you loved them.
A sad return indeed - but we learn from our mistakes. Unfortunately, orchids don't, but they make it possible for us to become better orchid growers. Take heart, another that needs your love and care is out there ~ and waiting for you...
Sorry to hear that. Its not your fault.
So sorry to hear that...It is a terrible feeling when these things happen and one blames themselves for not being more aware of the situation. Rest assured though that many of us also have had this experience and if one positive can come out of this is "vigilance" ... I had some Cypripediums once and no matter what I did they just turned up their toes in our climate here. At least yours grew for you, and that is a positive thing!
My thoughts are, start again... you obviously know what you are doing with these little gems so that is awesome. Perhaps when you have another go you can teach us down here how to even get them growing....
