Paphiopedilum Esquirolei, Paph Charlesworthii, and Paph Spicerianum from HK

Hi.

I just want to share my newly purchased Paphiopedilum from my HK Vacation on the First week of September.

They have no tags. the Seller Just put it in a tray with one 4R picture to let buyers know what it is.
The Seller was kind enough for me to take its pictures, so that I can easily identify them when I get home.

I just searched the internet to look for a better picture, and had it printed and laminated it.

All of them are in seedlings, I hope they adjust easily to their new environment here in the Philippines.

Any Pointers of taking care of these babies?

Esquirolei, Charlesworthii, and Spicerianum

Love the paph spicerianum! I need one of these too!

The labels are printed incorrectly as species orchids names are lower case. Hybrids are Capitalized, not the species, which at least 2 are. The 'Esquirolei' seems to be synonymous with another paph but the pics look totally different. So it is unclear to me if it is a hybrid or not. I looked at IOSPE for this info.

I just use my phone camera to take the pictures from the seller, and search the internet for a clearer image.

we just have to wait for some years to take its real flower picture...hehehe

The paph Esquirolei looks like it is blooming size to me. Do these growths show that they have bloomed (expired spike nub)? If not, I bet this winter or after it acclimates, it will bloom.

The others look a bit stressed (at least charlesworthii) but also look like they should be able to bloom.

It would not be difficult to bloom esquirolei in your area. Mine blooms easily in the lowlands. You may be able to bloom spicerianum but chrlesworthii needs cooler climate than where you live.

Stress...Yes...because just imagine How to bring them Home...the agony they have to endure to reach here.
and they just arrived at my home for 10 days, but the Esquirolei and charlesworthii show some new growth of leaves, so I guess they are ok.

...but chrlesworthii needs cooler climate than where you live.

hmmm... a tray with pumice rocks and water could increase humidity and cool the sorroundings for my charlesworthii, its what I did also for my dendro loddigesii.

Well I wish all of them will grow in a nice manner I'm worry that charlesworthii wont bloom for you as cattan said above.

Oh. When its a bit bigger, ill bring it to a cooler spot in the house...bathroom / bedroom (at night, when we turn on the A/C)...hehehe

You may succeed if you turn your AC to around 12 deg C.

As of now my main concern is to let them grow strong and healthy, flowering is secondary or when my babies are up to it in giving me the fruits of my TLC.

I'll take a note of it...as sometimes...we like to induce flowering...hehehe
