I don't grow this one under light actually. I grow it in my South window with no shade, where it is very bright and often hot. My Catts are there too. This one is too big for the lights. My other Oncidiums are in the East window now, which seems better for them than the lights. Mostly under lights are the Phals.

And yes, I do sometimes stay up late.

Mary- they got you with that too huh . The ones I've gotten have been so small you know it has a few years to bloom.

Yep, guess what vendor is crossed off of my list! It's a cute plant, was a little plug that was obviously freshly potted in a 4: pot. But it is getting roots established pretty well with the help of the KelpMax. I doubt it will bloom this year, maybe late next year.

I have seen a pretty small Sharry Baby in bloom before. It was for sale in my grocery store and I bought it for a co-worker who asked me to pick it up for her.

So they can bloom when they are short too!

Yes, I don't think they need to be huge to bloom, just that they might eventually get big and I got lucky.

Mine is on the large size. It hasn't bloomed for me since I got it last November but has 2 beautiful new growths and pb's (in addition to the growth it had when delivered).

If it doesn't bloom in the next year, I will cut it up into at least 2 plants. Hopefully that would spark a blooming.

Mine is basically fully open, need to get more pictures today once the sun comes up.

I also have a 'Sharry Baby' offspring in bloom - Onc. Heaven Scent 'Sweet Baby' - looks just like the parent but bred down in size considerably. I'll try to get pictures of that cute little thing to post as well.

Oncidum Sharry Baby is one of those over-performing weeds that is everywhere, and justifiably so. Easy, pretty, smells good - what's not to love?

You do have it spelled correctly, but if you want write it correctly you must do without the 'single quotes'. Oncidium Sharry Baby is the name of the cross (also called grex), capitalized, no quotes. Single quotes are reserved (and required) for specific clone or cultivar names that may follow the grex, as in Oncidum Sharry Baby 'Sweet Fragrance'. If you feel you really must emphasize the name somehow, "double quotes" is at least not reserved for another specific use.
