Me too...
lol, my husband wishes that I could say that I only got four this week!!! ... my count was 12!!! ... in my defence, I have been trying to buy a vanda since April and no one will part with one, so I bought 3 vanda babies ... the rest, well I just couldn't leave them there (mostly dens that I didn't have) ... Orchid shows are a very dangerous place for me to visit!! I really love the use of upright options that you have ... was space the main motivator or is there another reason that I am unaware of as a novice??
My motivation for the second space being like it is, room for more orchids pure and simple. I had though that my first shed would be more then enough when I first put it together, but then I found Bulbophyllum's and decided that I would need more room as I wanted to get as many as I can. The upright options are more for those then anything else. I will be posting more pictures of the newer shed in the next week or two as there have been some changes since these photo's were taken, one half wall (4 feet) is my Bulbo wall, I wanted a solid wall of Bulbo's attached on coconut fiber sheets and then one whole wall (8 feet) with Bulbo's that are mounted.
I know what you mean about orchid shows, I always go saying I am only getting one or two and then walk away with a lot more, fortunately I am to the point where I only want a few select species that I want to add to my collection, with 193 orchids it is just getting too much for one person to take care of so this next orchid show season, which for us starts in October, I will be very selective on what I purchase.
I am there too. At my 'limit' but will still pickup particularly attractive species.
My last orchid show that I attended locally was in March. I was trying hard to resist buying. Despite that, I picked up a replacement paph venustum. Everyone should have one of these! And now it just began to spike!
