    Never the easiest plant to bloom, and it looks like you will have success almost as soon as the plant is mature enough. Congratulations.

    It's a ' toss-up' when you buy these. Always when you buy these make sure that they are either a division of a previously bloomed plant or a plant that shows it has already bloomed, otherwise you will probably be in for a long wait.

    I agree that they can be tough to bloom. It always seemed to me that the problem was not enough light. I had one for many years and it was very reliable. I grew it right with the Vandas and it was potted in a fairly coarse mix with potting shards at the bottom... It was pretty much set up so there was no way to overwater it. Mine always bloomed late spring into summer so be patient for that sheath to fill with the buds.
