Lovely colors ! I wish i could have one of the plants!
All ... remember to apply back lighting to exceptionally dark flowers. The facial surface cells of dark pigmented blossoms act as mirrors reflecting the light striking them ... this reflections is what washes out the concentrated color. Apply facial lighting from an angle will also help. Head shots should be avoided since these will offer maximum reflection of flash units and be the most washed out. Experiment with diffent balances of lighting from the back and front and do several bracket photos at different shutter speeds to get the best color renditions. Hope this is helpful.
