Your photo is lovely, but it looks to me as if it was backlit (back left) and has been slightly enhanced by something like "add vibrance". In either case it would make the subject look somewhat different in colour especially, and to some extent in markings. I love the picture though, it makes the orchid really stand out. It certainly caught my eye.

LOL! No, snapped with a cellphone, using flash. Strong overhead lights though that come in at an angle...maybe that's what you see?

Only difference I see is the amount of yellow/orange in the base color. The lighting would be enough to influence that.

It certainly is a jazzy orchid. But why Waianae ? All three of the parents always have been Cattleya, surely ?
Orchidwiz thinks so, anyway. Maybe your supplier just wanted to list something different , that wouldn't be a first.

My buds have just opened. The lip is very similar to Roy's but the color of the petals and sepals, unless the color matures to a yellow/orange, is quite different. Background color on mine is green right now.
