This pretty harlequin is a souvenir of a trip I took to Key West; on the way we passed through Redlands, FL, so of course I had to choose some orchids. I didn't even know where Redlands was, but suddenly we were driving through it and I saw all the greenhouses along the highway.
I decided to snap this quick picture because I fear the flowers will not last long--I discovered that the spike had somehow been folded in half. I staked it after that, but it may be too late.
Anyway, I do love this one. It usually blooms in March and this year opened in December.
