    Default Dendrobium Love Memory Fizz

This is second blooming of this Den. I find growing these orchids is quite tricky. Not all of them have done as well.Name: Den Love Memeory - 1.jpg

Wow. Looks like one of Nobile hybrids. Would require a dry and cold winter to enable them to bloom

Beautiful Monica! I don't have any problem growing them. Flowering is my issue. Some of these crosses flower very easily while others just refuse no matter how much I dry them out and chill them.

I have just brought my nobile's out of dry, cool winter rest. This year, I misted them a few times but that was it. No water otherwise. I did suffer some dehydration on several canes but surprisingly, they have already re-hydrated and plumped back up. After 2 long stints in the shower. So far I have only a few nubs over all of my Dens that wintered. The one that looks the best of all after the rest, was my smallest one, Den jenkinsii, seems unaffected hydration wise. No lost or even yellowing leaves and I hope a spike soon!

And my Den superbum and den parishii and their hybrids haven't done anything yet. Leafless but plump canes. I hope for buds of flowers soon. Again, no water.

I have always had problems with nobile types no matter how much of a winter rest I give them, very little of that this winter. You at least had some luck, well done!

I think despite the winter rest they like bright light in the winter. That's what this one was given..

My Love Memory is in bloom also. It formed buds so early (around New Years after a mild Dec.) that I didn't get a chance to expose it to the cool, dry rest that my other dens are in now. That suggests to me that it doesn't require a long exposure to those conditions.
