So before I give up on this druryi totally, below is a picture with some hope that someone can diagnose it. It grows some new leaves and the older die. It has gotten worse during the last six months. I have some other Paphiopedilum species and they are doing very well with their older leaves lasting 4-5 years or more. By the way, it has had this single growth since 2015. Anyhow, can anyone guess what is wrong with it? Maybe it just a bad clone.
Leaves look bleached to me. How much sun it is getting ?. Would you know if is growing active roots?
It is getting a lot of light but not sun. I have it under lights. I was told it needed a lot of light but maybe that's the problem. The roots are fine.
It requires a lot of sun to initiate blooming. It grows amongst tall grass and during the dry season the grasses dry up and expose paph.druryi to much higher light (Dec-Feb) and makes them bloom in Feb-Mar. In my opinion, since yours is a single growth plant, just grow it in low light and then may be 2-3 years later expose to higher light to initiate blooming
Thanks Sriram. If it doesn't work with this particular plant, I'll buy a new one.
