Looks good to me!
I've read somewhere that you can take certain types of Dendrobiums and cut the stalk in 3" pieces leaving a couple of nodes and lay them down in some sphagnum moss slightly covering the tops and you can propagate that way.
Never tried it. But I was given several dens that was nothing but a cane sticking out of the potting medium and they sprouted keikis.
In fact, here's one that I took a picture off just after reading your thread.
The pot contains about four different canes which I combined into one pot.
These are tough little guys: I have been doing some experimentation on 3 little keikis:
One Planted in Straight Perlite: one in plain Water: And one in dirt and perlite: ... and they're all doing great.
You can probably see in the background although a bit blurry.
Good Job.
