It was growing a nice spike until I came home to find the Ctsm. Lovena (Ctsm. fimbriatum 'Golden Horizon' x Ctsm. Susan Fuchs 'Burgundy Chips' FCC/AOS) on the floor with a broken spike. One bud survived.

How did it fall off?
It was not in a decorative pot. As it dried during the day, it became top heavy. BOOM!
Oh. At least you can't blame it on cats or the new long-tailed dog, like I can. Sometimes early in the morning when I am sitting in my comfortable chair sipping coffee, he comes over, wags his tail and succulents go flying off the shelf in all directions. Had to move the chair.
Well, at least you got one beautiful blossom out of it.
sorry to hear about the mishap.
i know how frustrating it could be after the long wait, but at least one made it.
Thanks all.
Yes, I was sad that I found the broken spike. Glad one bud survived.
I have had to put some of the pots of Catasetums that I have into bigger pots to keep them from tipping. Too bad about this Harvey but it is a great bloom!
That is a shame but it is a nice flower!
