Agreed on that! Another similar case would be Aerangis fastuosa x Jumellea pandurata that looked exactly like Aerangis fastuosa. They said it has to do something with parthenogenesis and the pollen DNA just disappear/deleted when both parents are very distantly related.
That has happened with some Phrag x Paph hybrid attempts. The Paph pollen triggers seed development in the Phrag, but the seedlings are Phrag with no trace of Paph. It doesn't seem to happen the other way around.
