I really like this little phal. It's P. Brecko Arwcram X P. Malibu Imp.

Oooh! Nice Phal, Lisa! Don't you love the ones with the thick waxy petals? I think they're my favorite. Hey, did you ever end up getting that flask you were talking about?

Thanks guys, I really like it!

Jason, no fragrance, but that's okay... can't have everything!

Louis, I decided to pass on the paph flask and try an encyclia instead. I understand those better and they'll grow faster. I thought I'd better start with an easy one and work my way up to a paph! Still wanta try it someday!

oh you decided to pass on it?
I forgot to say that this reminds me of my sedirea japonica a whole lot, but it will have a fragrance, and the blooms are smaller.

Lisa, smell the flowers at different times of the day. You would be surprised to know if they were fragrant during certain parts of the day. I have 1 Phal hybrid that I was going to give away when one day I discovered by accident that the flowers were fragrant like fresh roses! I had the plant for about 2 years and all that time I wasn't even aware of the scent.

What is the encyclia you got? Curious minds want to know!

I'll try that, Peter. Seems like something so pretty would have a fragrance.

Heather, it's Encyclia fragrans and I only paid $5.50 before shipping. It's very small, maybe 10 plants, but they are pretty and are suppose to smell amazing. And they'll be something I can trade with in a few years (hopefully!)
