I posted pics of another plant of the same grex ( Green Emerald) in August ; this one however is an awarded form ( AM/AOS) and distinctly better. The flowers open quite a dark green colour, but after a couple of days, when fully grown and flat as shown here, the colour has faded to this.
I do like these spotted flowers, they also have great substance and last for ages - due to the influence ( usually) of C. aclandiae in the background. Now that my cattleyas all seem to be growing well, I shall look out for some of the species, including aclandiae, although quality is guaranteed when buying meristem tissue propagations of awarded plants, and they are rarely available in the species - it is more a matter of luck with seed raised plants.
