    Default Cyc. Taiwan Gold Orange

Well I've been waiting 3 maybe 4 years now for this one to bloom for me. It's not as orange as I would have thought/liked. But I am thrilled nonetheless. What a beautiful spray of flowers! It's actually 2 spikes. Any idea on possible lack of color. Now don't think of me as a total complainer but a very interesting fragrance this flower has! It almost resembles moth balls

I am taking the picture on the gloomiest winter's day we've had in years but I couldn't wait to share. Perhaps the color will look better in the sun.

WOW, certainly took it's time to finally open, mine have been in winter rest since November. The color might be due to some of the weather changes we have been having, but I would certainly be glad that it finally bloomed and gave you a great display!

Yes I am grateful. It really did take awhile didn't it?

Nicely done Sheryl! I would think your weather has a lot to do with the slightly pale colour as well.

I have just checked in Orchidwiz, and the images there show flowers identical to yours.
I did have this hybrid myself, and my plant flowered with very different colours. I now believe my plant was not correctly named, or perhaps itis a variable plant - we are so used to meristems, where every plant is identical, we forget that sometimes we are buying seedlings with some natural variation.

Thanks Geoff! I did see quite a few that color as well. I'm just a big ole orange lover. I have to say I'm loving it more and more each day! And it really has a very strong fragrance!!
