The most common variation is the tiger muskie which is a cross between a muskellunge and a northern pike. here's a picture of a species muskellunge, also known as Esox masquinongy. they're known to occur in lakes and sometimes rivers, if im not mistaken, in Alabama, Arkansas, Delaware, District of Columbia, Georgia, Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Kentucky, Maine, Maryland, Michigan, Minnesota, Missouri, Nebraska, New Hampshire, New Jersey, New York, North Carolina, North Dakota , Ohio, Pennsylvania, South Dakota, Tennessee, Vermont, Virginia, West Virginia, and Wisconsin.
