Default Cattleya Deception Drop x 2

2 first flowering seedlings. Weren't all that fast in growing when small plants but doing well now. 2 flowers on one & 2 on other. I've seen a group of the original cross of this & each spike had around 6 - 8 flowers per head. I'm looking forward to these getting there. These could be 4n also, I have to check.

Interesting siblings. Are you going to send samples to the lab for the ploidy checking?

No, cost too much over here. I've asked the nursery if they know, waiting on reply.

Both are equally beautiful except the second photo relatively blurred could be due to high humidity?

Probably photographer, back was & is giving me major pain today, super fix pills not working. Legs not working either with the pain.

Had an email back from hybridist of these plants, he did make the cross to be 4N.

I heard that 4N has the reputation of being slow grower. How long does this take from seedling to first flowering?

Yes, these took 4 years from small plants. Should have flowered last year but the sheaths never formed buds. Don't know why at all. Just didn't. Not all that long to flower I suppose under my conditions anyway.
