Now hardly to get the above species here in Malaysia some more short cane type ( so rare) I only saw long canes need a lot of space for this wonderful species. Great job Geoff.

I have two versions of this species ; this is the "small caned version , although in fact the canes are half a metre high. But then the large caned one has canes twice the height.
Big flowers too, some 5 inches tip-to-toe ( north-south).
I have grown this species S/H and had far more flowers than here . In fact all my plants have been too dry over the winter, deliberately or unavoidably, so probably not shown at its possible best, here.

Beautiful.. Its hybrid, Dend Formidable (formosum x infundibulum) also looks very similar, equally tall but is more heat tolerant. Sometimes difficult to distinguish between the two.
