    Default Dendrobium formosum

Newly acquired recently of Dendrobium formosum was told these are the best clones as the lip with orange/yellow patches is more wider and so much different from the common one.So sorry the flower is not in a good condition. Here are 2 different clones.

The darker red throat is the one I like best. I find that depth of colour here depends on culture. On the west side of my greenhouse, where all the dendrobes are stacked togather so thickly not much light gets through (!) I get paler colours. One the east side, where there are many very large plants, hence spaced out more widely, more light and better colour. But there is not enough room to put them all on the east side ... the real answer is to get rid of a lot of plants , and grow the ones I keep much better. Easy to say, but.....

Fingers crossed Ana and another small bud appeared from the old cane ...interesting as old pseudobulb will never yield any bud base on observation.

I also had the same taste and prefer the darker throat and maybe your assumption about the lip color is true but not happen here as our sun light always very strong from morning till evening except during the raining season.
