    Default Long Petalled Phrag Questions

Among the 3 types of Phrag hybrids, Wossner Supergrande, Giganteum, and Mont Fallu, are there any cultural differences among them, such as water and light requirements?

I need to give them basic phrag env. with a bit of higher lights, it that correct?

Should I give them wet feet (like my Longifoliums) or not?

Put the Mont Fallu in NZ sphag. (from Jason's post) and it's doing very well so I'm thinking of putting the rest of the long petalled in NZ sphag unless I hear otherwise.

Among the 3, which has the longest petals and which is more disctinct in colors?

Any info (big or small) will be greatly appreciated.

Where are all my phrag gurus at ???

they should ALL be easy-growing, and probably will not mind wet feet, although in these crosses a few of the plants will prefer the drier conditions of the species parent.

wossner supergrande should be the darkest of the three given the warscewiczianum parent. giganteum probably should have the longest petals since it is 3/4 caudatum. mont fallu has the most longifolium in it and will probably, on average, be the most forgiving culture-wise. but all three should be easy to grow.

I have both Wossner Supergrande, Giganteum. They get same light, temp and humidity, the Giganteum is in a medium bark/charcol mix due to is caudatum heritage, the W. Supergrande is in moss.

LOL - when do you expect your Wossner Supergrande to bloom, Diane?

PS - I'm thinking I didn't guess the primary hybrid correctly...

Phrag Mont Fallu is the only 1 i have & it,s a pretty vigorous grower once established.
    It,s in s/h in a tall pot & gets fairly high light(about 2500fc).
