I live in south Florida and all of my orchids are outside 24/7. South Florida weather is hot and humid in the spring-fall and winters are usually the time when we really enjoy our weather as we don't have the heat and humidity during this time. As to temps during the hot season we very rarely get below the mid 70's at night and it can be up towards the high 90's, then you can include the humidity which can be between 65-100% humidity at times. During the hot period all of my orchids get watered daily for about 10 minutes, on my bulbos during the extreme heat times that will happen twice a day, they do like to stay moist. During the cooler months my bulbos still get watered daily but only about 5-6 minutes, my other orchids the same time but every 2-3 days. You have to play it by ear as, like this past week it did get down into the high 40's but 2 days later we are back up to 86. I use time release fertilizer in the spring and still fertilize during the growing season every week during the cooler times I will fertilize about every 3-4 weeks, except winter resting orchids which get no water or fertilizer till spring.
