    Default Vanda Johanna Ljunggren

Easy and frequent bloomer - it's putting up a new spike again. Lightly scented.
This is a primary cross of V. coerulea and V. tessellata. I did not 'tweak' the colors.

Yeah, substance on the medium to heavy side, so it keeps a good shape. Blooms are about 3 1/2 " wide - not huge, but pretty good. Frequent bloomer. It has the color and tesselations of V. coerulea, but shape is better and tends toward the V. tessellata side. I feel I got lucky to find this one.

    Thanks for all the comments.

I can only join Sheryl. The wonderful colour as well as the shape of the flowers are magnificent.

I just discovered that I may have the cross wrong on this one. It may be a V. Mimi Palmer x V. coerulea. The grex is correct but the parents that result in the grex may be incorrect. I need to check this out more, now.

If you mean that the name of the grex, Johanna Ljunggren, is correct, then it is a cross between Mimi Palmer and coerulea.

Strictly speaking, one of the parents is Papilionanda Mimi Palmer having Papilionanthe in the background. This would make this Papilionanda Johanna Ljunggren. Again, this is only according to the latest separation of the terete Vandas into the genus Papilionanthe.
