    Default Catasetum Nicolasa Tavarez X Clowesia dodsoniana

    Having issues this year with this species, what normally would have bloomed 2-3 times by now I am lucky to get spikes and the number of blooms is way low, still trying to figure out why this is happening. There is another spike growing.

    Well nevertheless a beautiful flower! Maybe it's cyclical and will be better next year.

    I would agree, thanks. I have had this one since 2014 and the very next blooming season it gave me two spikes and since then I have gotten 3-4 spikes each blooming season. I am having the same problem with all my others not just this one. Going to ask around to see if any one has any idea what's up.

    You can answer this yourself by looking at the flowers. These are male flowers. So, yes. Most catasetae are, I think, maybe all are ; its a characteristic of the genus.
