I have posted this elsewhere but apparently I have solved the picture posting problem I was having here (wish I knew how I did it) so now I can share on OrchidTalk. Yeah!
Here in the Keys all the tourists and short term renters have been sent home due to the COVID-19 concern so it has gotten very, very quiet. Probably not a bad place to get holed up for awhile till things settle down.
Anyway, with all the spring shows getting cancelled and being just a tad bored already, I decided to put together my own amateurish exhibit on my porch just for myself, wife and the dog.
Very nice. I hope you won best display
Which plant is Best in Show?
Susan
Thanks for sharing the show with us! Brought a smile to my face. I do miss the shows.

That is wonderful! Great display!!! So much you have in bloom now too.
cheers,

Leigh, they are all so beautiful! I'm sure your wife and dog must be enjoying the show! What is the red one up on top? Will you be staying in the keys longer this year?
Thanks Sheryl.
The red one on top is Pot. Eldorado 'Hawaii'. Picked it up last year at Redland show. It is very vigorous and showy. That red color just pops. It's mounted on a cedar plaque with a hanger attached to all 4 corners. Had never seen that done before but the way this plant is thriving I may consider it for some of my other small-med sized cattleya's.
We were scheduled to fly north for a week around Easter (and also for a wedding) but all that has been cancelled. Normally head north the week after Redland show near end of May so that will still be the plan (sans the show) but time will tell if that's what happens. Just laying low here and trying to stay under the radar. Monroe County announced yesterday they are setting up a "checkpoint" on The Stretch" starting Friday similar to what they do during hurricanes to keep out non-residents. It has already been dubbed "the Conch Republic Border Crossing" by all the locals. Too funny but I hope it helps us be even a little more isolated.

Here's a poor close-up of Hawaii that shows how it's mounted.
Wow nice collection Leigh the red Catt really outstanding...Congrats.
That is beautiful and a unique mount! Hopefully all will be back to normal soon and your plans to head back north for the summer won't be disrupted. Thanks again for the beautiful show!
