I got this plant as a seedling three years ago. The species is maybe better known as its former name Ascocentrum ampullaceum.

Thanks Zain. Yes, it is line-bred with unusually good flowers if I may say so myself. But it seemed to take forever until the little plant reached blooming size. Now I'm trying to make a cross with Rhynchostylis gigantea. Let's see if it works and if it does I guess I have to wait another 10 years before I'll see what the flowers of that cross look like.

Wow that is great Idea I wondering and guess the next off spring will looks amazing, based on my experience within 6 years if everything going very smooth you will get the outcome 10 years too long. Anyway good luck for the crossing and may the seed pod is viable.
