So, this year in my garden I decided to plant some sunflowers. I've never grown them before, but had some bird seed and thought - why not??! So, I researched and read that I needed to soak the seeds over night in water before planting. I did so and planted one row of flowers. Well, every seed came up! I had another empty row on the other side of the fence panel that I put in to support my tomatoes and planted a bunch more sunflower seeds - this time without soaking. They all came up too. Now the plants are starting to bloom with multiple flowers. I'm so happy. I think the birds will love these.

These are black oil sunflower seeds. Anyone know how long it takes the seeds to mature and turn black in the flowers?

Cheers,
